Red Phone, I know that the city is taking jaywalking seriously
and handing out $200 tickets. I will not express my opinion about
that. But I would like to know why the same amount of energy is not
being put into citing the skateboarders and bicyclists that ride on
the sidewalks downtown.

“Red Phone, I know that the city is taking jaywalking seriously and handing out $200 tickets. I will not express my opinion about that. But I would like to know why the same amount of energy is not being put into citing the skateboarders and bicyclists that ride on the sidewalks downtown. This is very dangerous.”
Red Phone: Dear Why, Red Phone contacted Sgt. Jerry Neumayer, who said he’s not sure what incident you’re referring to, but officers issued multiple tickets during the summer months, primarily at night in response to numerous complaints from citizens regarding jaywalkers.
As to citing skateboarders and bicyclists, “our officer will and do initiate enforcement on local and state laws pertaining to bicyclists and skateboarders when they are free from other priority calls,” he said. “We also encourage citizens to report any violations or safety hazards regarding bicyclists and skateboarders.”
Hope that answers your question, good caller.
Marketing trailer also advertises MH
“Red Phone, I’ve seen this parked around Morgan Hill several times. What a cute way to show pride in our town! But, what is it all about? Thanks.”
Red Phone: Dear What’s It All About, Red Phone called the number on the trailer and learned it belonged to Extravaganza Salon in downtown Morgan Hill. Art Palis, who owns the salon with his wife Candace, said the cute little barn-looking structure atop a trailer, that he built, goes with him everywhere. Once in a while he parks it downtown to bring a smile to people’s faces.
“It’s a community thing to make people proud of where they live and at the same time it advertises our new business Noodle Heads, a children’s hair salon inside Extravaganza Salon,” he said.
Palis said he’s thinking of putting together a petting zoo with free photos with Santa Claus this holiday season to raise money for local charities.
Good caller, hope that solves the mystery.
