An earthquake measuring 3.0 magnitude shook Morgan Hill at 5:07 p.m. this afternoon.

The temblor rattled the area about 11 miles southeast of Morgan Hill, and about 6 miles northeast of Gilroy, according the U.S. Geological Survey web site.

An employee at the Morgan Hill Police dispatch center said no one called to report local damage or injuries related to the earthquake.
