A couple of Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League teams will
compete in the Northern California State Cup soccer tournament over
the next two weekends at the Morgan Hill Soccer Complex. Following
are their schedules: Boys Under 18: OVYSL Barcelona The Barcelona
are a strong team that finished first in the Abronzino division
this season and they will face some very stiff competition this
weekend. Game 1: Saturday, April 2, Field 9, 8:30am against the
Southern Alameda SAC Stars Game 2: Saturday, April 2, Field 9,
1:45pm against the Pleasanton Ballistic United Game 3: Sunday,
April 3, Field 8, 10:45am against the Fremont Fury Girls Under 16:
OVYSL Scream The Scream are a very strong competitive team that won
the District II Cup last fall, but they, too, will be facing some
very strong premier teams. Game 1: Saturday, April 9, Field 11,
noon against the Southern Alameda North Stars Game 2: Sunday, April
10, Field 8, 1:45pm against the San Ramon Blues Also competing in
the NorCal State Cup are the Boys Under 14 OVYSL Pumas, who will be
traveling to Cherry Island in the Sacramento area; the Boys Under
15 OVYSL Stingrays, who will be traveling to Turlock; and the Boys
Under 17 OVYSL Juventus, who will also be traveling to Cherry
Island in Sacramento.
