Vivian Viola Estes Selph of San Martin, CA passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, of coronary failure. Vivian was born in Ardmore, OK on 4/06/1921 to Roy and Lilly Estes. Vivi (as most friends and family called her) had eight siblings: Clarence, Tommy, Bertha, Velma, Wilmer, Beatrice, Lyndell, and Opal. Vivi married Alvia Selph on July 1, 1936, and had seven children: Shirley, Lloyd, Juanita, Barbara, Debbie, Dawna, and Diana.

Vivi and Alvie owned and operated a cafe in Mason, TX before moving to Morgan Hill, CA in 1952. Once here, Vivi worked at Pic N Pac Cannery in San Martin for 30 years. Vivi had a zest for life, friends, and family. She adored her 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Vivi was a great cook and loved making her classic dishes such as fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, country gravy, and her famous homemade pancakes and maple syrup for her children and grandchildren. Vivi will always be remembered for her great love of family, her beautiful laugh, great story telling, her generosity and kindness, her love of Country and Western music, and her overall love for life.

Vivi was preceded in death by her husband, three children, and five siblings. She was survived by three siblings, four daughters, all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey St, Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
