Morgan Hill Police arrested three men and seized body armor and marijuana during a probation search on Cosmo Avenue late Monday evening.

Officers found the body armor, 29.4 grams of marijuana, packaging materials and a scale in the bedroom of Abideen Tiamiyu, 23, of Morgan Hill.

Officers were at the residence to conduct a probation search as a condition of Tiamiyu’s probation. Tiamiyu was not at home during the search. Police are seeking a warrant for his arrest for possession-for-sale of marijuana, being a convicted felon in possession of body armor and a probation violation.

While at Tiamiyu’s residence, officers arrested three other subjects for outstanding warrants and drug related charges.

Jerry Bettancourt, 25, of Morgan Hil was found by police hiding under a pile of clothes in an upstairs bedroom. He was on active parole and had a warrant for a parole violation. Bettancourt was also charged with possession for sale of marijuana.

Daniel Yohannes, 26, was arrested without incident on an outstanding warrant for resisting arrest and an additional charge of possession-for-sale of marijuana. The third subject, a 17-year-old juvenile was arrested on an outstanding warrant for escaping from the Holden Boy’s ranch.

The two adults were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail and the juvenile into juvenile hall. All subjects involved were residents of Morgan Hill and lived at the Village Avanti apartment complex in the area of Del Monte Lane and Cosmo Avenue.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Acting Sgt. Troy Hoefling at 779-2101.
