Thousands will flock downtown Saturday and Sunday for the 28th annual festival to enjoy live bands, gourmet food booths, a children’s carnival with games and rides and an outdoor arts and crafts fair.

As usual, city police will allow law-abiding fun but will be out on foot to prevent any trouble. Since the festival moved downtown in 2005, crowds have been mostly well-behaved but there have been some problems with fights, theft and public drunkenness.

Unlike the previous two years, the colorful fiesta will be anchored at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center’s outdoor amphitheater and along parts of Depot Street. Free parking options remain at the corner of E. Dunne Avenue and Church Street and at the Caltrain station on Butterfield Boulevard between E. Dunne and E. Main avenues.
