An investigation is continuing into the death Friday afternoon of Edmond Mok, 20, of Morgan Hill during what appears to be horseplay gone wrong.

According to information from Morgan Hill Police Lt. Joe Sampson, Mok was apparently involved in horseplay on Piazza Way off West Edmundson Avenue, a residential neighborhood.

California Department of Forestry paramedics and an ambulance responded to the 4:45pm call for aid after Mok apparently fell from a car, receiving a serious head injury.

Mok was taken to Saint Louise Medical Center where he died at 6:51pm.

Apparently, Sampson said, Mok had jumped onto the hood of a1995 Honda Civic driven by Samuel Flemming, 21, of Morgan Hill.

Witnesses told officers the car started moving or was moving when Mok jumped on it; Flemming braked, causing Mok to slide or fall off.

Flemming was not arrested. Sampson said when the investigation is completed, the report will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
