SAN RAFAEL — In its first action this year, the 14-and-under Pride of Morgan Hill softball team won the ASA 14U ‘A’ Pre-Qualifier in San Rafael last weekend.

Strong pitching and timely hitting ruled the day, as Pride battled strong competition. Pride beat Cal-Impact 5-3 in the championship game.

“What a great way to start the season,” Pride coach Doug Herfurth said. “The girls played very hard and stayed focused to the end, allowing them to compete against such a tough field.

“We will continue to seek the best competition possible to prepare us for our run at nationals.”

Pride is a competitive girls fast-pitch softball organization that draws players from the South County and beyond. Pride is forming teams in all age groups. For more information, visit www.prideofmorganhill.com.
