Driver arrested after driving through scene of traffic
accident
Morgan Hill – A traffic accident at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Live Oak Avenue caused the driver of another vehicle to plow through the scene and hit a parked Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office car.

Deputies had used cones to block off the scene of the accident site and the driver rammed right through.

The driver who rammed into the sheriff’s car was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was treated for injuries. No one else on the scene was injured, said Santa Clara County sheriff’s spokesman Serg Palanov.

Residents in the north Morgan Hill neighborhood were drawn out of their houses Thursday evening by all the police activity.

Witnesses of the incident said they later saw police vehicles speeding off on Monterey Highway with lights flashing and sirens blaring as if in pursuit. Palanov said he was not aware of any pursuit, but said officers could have been responding to other calls.
