A storm is brewing as heavy rains and strong winds are expected to hit South County beginning in the late afternoon April 6, according to Anna Schneider, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“A (storm) front is coming through tonight and it is going to bring heavy rains and strong winds,” Schneider said.
NWS is forecasting more than an inch of rainfall between late afternoon April 6 and overnight into Friday with the heaviest rains expected in the late night hours.
South County is not under a wind advisory, but gusty winds are expected, Schneider noted.
“There will still be some lingering showers throughout Friday, drying up by late Saturday morning and it will be dry Sunday as well,” Schneider said.
