Cajun food coming soon to Morgan Hill

Red Phone, we have a problem with one of the neighbors. When his
garbage is overflowing he struts all over the neighborhood throwing
his excess garbage that will not fit in his cans in the neighbors’
cans.

“Red Phone, we have a problem with one of the neighbors. When his garbage is overflowing he struts all over the neighborhood throwing his excess garbage that will not fit in his cans in the neighbors’ cans. I actually have caught him twice doing this. I did not say anything to him, but shouldn’t this be wrong? This is happening on Cory Lane. He puts so much garbage in the neighboring cans that the lids will not close. Please see what you can do about this. Thanks.”

Red Phone: Dear Please Help, Red Phone contacted Code Enforcement officer John Amos, who said placing garbage in your neighbors cans without permission is a violation of section 8.16.050 of the Morgan Hill Municipal Code, which bars depositing litter on private property.

“Hopefully, a situation like this could be resolved between neighbors,” he said. Failing that, a complaint could be filed with Amos at 778-6480.

Good caller, you stated that you twice caught your neighbor, but did not speak up. Perhaps that should be your first step. Tell him that what he is doing is against the law and if he continues you’ll be forced to report him.

“However, such a complaint would be of a lower priority than other more critical health and safety issues,” Amos added.

There are solar firms for homes

“With Morgan Hill’s recent solar power deal with Borrego Solar is there any chance this getting offered to residences in Morgan Hill? I am sure there are many homes in Morgan Hill that would be interested in solar if the price was right.”

Red Phone: Dear Any Chance, Red Phone contacted Program Administrator Anthony Eulo, said the company does not install systems at residential homes.

“They do have a residential partner who is going to contact the city and see what we can establish for local customers,” Eulo said.

In addition, there are many solar companies that offer leases and other power purchase agreements that will allow residents to install solar without an initial investment, he added. Some of these companies are even locally owned and operated.

There you have it, good caller. Hope that answers your questions.
