“Dirty Dancing” – A little dusty and tired
A tired and a little worse for wear stage production of ”Dirty Dancing” limped into the Golden Gate Theatre – any resemblance to the 1987 box office hit movie with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray is purely, as they say coincidental.
Flores: Classic spy tale is slow paced but full of twists
"Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," directed by Tomas Alfredson, looks and feels like a movie out of a different era. It is a thoughtful spy thriller with a much slower pace that relies on a musical score to build the momentum rather than bombs or explosions. If the "Mission Impossible" series is at one end of the spy caper spectrum, "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" is at the other end.

“The Cemetery Club,” Limelight Theater's current offering is a bittersweet comedy about three friends who meet once a month to celebrate the past and the present. The three widows are the surviving half of three sets of long time best friends. Although each woman is in a different stage of healing, they continue their once-a-month meetings for tea followed by a visit to the local cemetery to pay respects to their husbands.
‘Spamalot’: Side-splitting mirth
“Spamalot” is taken from the successful movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” and the Broadway hit of 2005, for which Eric Idle wrote the book, music and lyrics with John Du Prez. The show garnered 14 Tony nominations and won three, one for best musical. Python groupies and non-obsessed Python theater goers will be gleefully satisfied with all the absurdity and insanity.
