This year I have decided to make some New Year’s Resolutions. This was very difficult for me, because in the past I have not stuck to any of the resolutions I’ve made. I think that was because they were too hard. I mean, I had stuff on my list like “accomplish world peace” and “stop playing Angry Birds 24/7.”

Sobrato is a team who has played dozens of football games since 2004 — half of which were at “home” — but yet has never had the benefit of home-field advantage.

Last month I took a nice motorcycle ride through the great American Southwest. This trip allowed me to reflect on life a bit here in our little community.

Well, I thought I was going to be able to share a little good news with you this week. You see, I believed my hearing greatly improved one magical night. Unfortunately, a visit to my good friend, Dr. Joe at the Hearing and Speech Services here in Morgan Hill, told me it was just circumstances. You see, Lady M had eleven of her friends over recently to play Bunco and, although I was sequestered in an upstairs bedroom, the noise level was close to the 135db pitch of a jet engine at 100 feet. I was certain that my hearing had returned to normal – no group of lovely ladies could possibly have that much fun and express their enjoyment that loudly.

Sometimes things don’t work out but sometimes they do. Something happened recently that could’ve gone all wrong but it went all right.
