Just when you think you've seen everything, it's guaranteed that a ginormous high-tech/societal tidal wave will roll in, squashing you like a little sand crab.

Soft-shell crabs, a seasonal seafood par excellence

We don't typically think of seafood as seasonal. Some forms of salmon, sea bass, crustaceans and lobster are available in supermarkets year-round.

‘Fiddler on the Roof’: Full of tradition

The audience at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse received South Valley's Civic Theatre production of “Fiddler on the Roof” - the final production of the season - with well deserved kudos. If this is an example of what is coming next season, run – don't walk – to purchase next season’s tickets. This was an extremely well done show with an excellent cast. This wonderful piece of theatre is reincarnated with exuberance and energy, and is a joy to watch.

Before I formally begin this edition of The Flavor Chronicle, I would like to share with you that Sunday is the 53rd annual Morgan Hill Haru Matsuri (spring festival), which starts at 11 a.m. This is one of my favorite local festivals where you are surrounded by an abundance and variety of wonderful Japanese foods. Some of the food items include udon, sushi, manju and, of course, the much sought after and well-known chicken teriyaki boxes. If you don't already have plans for this Sunday, consider a visit and bring your appetite.
