Kevin Heath and the Limelight Actors Theater continually bring well done, enjoyable theater to Gilroy. “Other Desert Cities” is a comedy-drama and not an easy piece to deliver, yet Heath and his company of top Limelight alumni actors bring in a first-class production.

Good theatre is truly magic and delivers you to another time and place of fascinating enjoyment depending on how good the players and playwrights are and that’s how good the magic can be.  

Here at the height of the Christmas season, we’ve kicked it into overdrive. Since Thanksgiving, we’ve been decorating and organizing, gift-finding and wrapping, crafting and baking. House lights are up, stockings are hung, Christmas trees sparkle with magic, as if delivered by Santa himself. In the background we envision an appropriate accompaniment to our colossal efforts: the Boston Pops Orchestra’s playing of the “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Of course I know it’s Monopoly. Can’t you forgive even one little mistake? I was going to say it was a test to see if all of you, my loyal readers, noticed that I said the iron and now the cat were Clue tokens when everyone knows full well that they are Monopoly tokens. But I cannot tell a lie. I was so fixated on General Chipotle that I just plain screwed up. And for the thousands of you (make that a few dozen) who just had to point out the errors of my ways, well, uhhh, thank you. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, that’s great. Let’s just keep it that way.
