Passed away at his Hollister home at the age of 71.

Kimberly Deanne Perry passed away October 23, 2009. A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Tues. Oct. 3, 2009, at The Foothills Foursquare Church, 8335 Church St., Gilroy.

Philip R. Coates, 86, died October 24, 2007 after a short illness at the Veteran's Hospital in Palo Alto. He was raised in Morgan Hill and graduated from Live Oak High School in 1939. He later joined the Army as a paratrooper, was injured, then captured as a POW. When he returned to Morgan Hill, he worked for the Leonard Coates Nursery and later the Morgan Hill Unified School District as a gardener. Upon retirement he moved to Aromas, CA.

Life-long resident Rose Velasco Jones passed away quietly on March 5. Rose had lived in Gilroy most of her life. Her parents traveled from Spain to the Hawaiian Islands where Rose was born. Her family moved to Gilroy when she was a young girl. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Louis Jones, her parents, Cris and Ladisla Velasco, brothers Dal, Marshal, Florencio, Phillip and Cano Velasco. She is survived by her son and his wife, Richard and Dee Ann Brown, grandchildren, Becky, Justin and Colleen Brown, and two great-grandchildren, Gannon and Molly Penick. She is also survived by her sister Bernice (Mecca) Shurden as well as Mecca Ann Hutchins and numerous nieces and nephews. At Rose's request, no services will be held. The family will gather at the home of her son in Tres Pinos to enjoy her favorite food and reminisce.

Passed away in Hollister. Friends can pay their respects on Sat. Mar. 17th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The funeral services will be at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment services will be on Monday at 1:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery.

Services: Thurs. 9/8/2011 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Terry Scott Laird, M. D., died May 19, 2009, in Santa Cruz, CA, at the age of 67. Scott was born November 22, 1941 in Oakdale, CA, a fourth generation native born Californian, to May and Terry Turner Laird, M.D. He is survived by his wife, Ruth , his sons, David , Michael and Sam, his sister, Jane Laird Sharp, daughters-in law, Joyce Laird, and Heather Reed, his grandgirls Marisa, Keiko, Anabela and Abby Laird, nieces, nephews and great-nephew.

Visitation on Thursday, January 7th, 2016, from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Mass on Friday, January 8th, 2016, 11:00 A.M., at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visit www.grunnagle.com for condolences.

Born Betty Bernice Rehill, Toronto, Canada. Betty was a Morgan Hill resident from 1976 to 1980, and was a piano teacher. She was the beloved mother of Fred, Louise, and Matthew, mother-in-law of James and cherished grandmother of Dylan and Amber.
