Spotlight of the Week: Martin Murphy Middle School’s 22nd annual Turkey Trot
Martin Murphy Middle School held its 22nd annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 16. The school-wide event included students, faculty and staff. They ran or walked a one-mile course. Eighth-grader Vanessa Guevara kicked off this year's race by singing the National Anthem. Coordinator Dan Scudero worked hard to arrange a fun and successful event for the Martin Murphy community with excellent student participation – 90 percent of the 640 students. Parent participation was also high, as they volunteered during the event and donated gift cards, electronic items, goodies, and other prizes.
