Man Arrested on Rape Charges
Morgan Hill – A Los Banos man was arrested on Saturday morning after parents of a 13-year-old girl reported their daughter and the man had had “consensual sex” in a local motel.
Tommie Stewart, 25, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged statutory rape after his arrest at the motel at approximately 5am, according to Morgan Hill police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer. The 13-year-old girl reportedly told her mother about the incident.
The girl was treated at a hospital and later released.
Local Man Arrested for DUI in Crash
Morgan Hill – A Morgan Hill man was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on Sunday after a head-on collision that fortunately caused only minor injuries.
According to California Highway Patrol officer Chris Armstrong, Tomas Figueroa, 29, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and allegedly driving on a suspended license after the 4:30pm crash.
Figueroa was traveling southbound on Condit Road just south of the East Main Avenue intersection as a vehicle in front of him slowed in preparation to make a right hand turn.
“Due to his intoxication, his judgment was impaired, and he begins to pass the other car on the northbound side, colliding with a truck traveling in the northbound lane,” Armstrong said.
There were no passengers in either vehicle, Armstrong said, and both drivers received only minor injuries.
