At least four people were injured in a three-car collision on East Dunne Avenue in east Morgan Hill Sunday night, police said.

Morgan Hill Police responded to the collision about 8:19pm June 25, in the area of East Dunne Avenue and Gallop Drive. Upon arrival, officers found three vehicles in the roadway and numerous occupants with significant injuries, according to MHPD.

Cal Fire and emergency paramedics arrived on scene to care for the injured. Three people involved in the collision were transported to area hospitals, and another was flown from the scene via Cal Star air ambulance, police said.

MHPD closed East Dunne in both directions for several hours as they investigated the collision. The initial investigation determined that a Ford Mustang was traveling east on East Dunne when it collided with a Toyota Venza that was preparing to make a left turn onto Thomas Grade, police said.

The Toyota immediately overturned and slid into the eastbound lane of East Dunne, according to authorities. A Toyota Sienna that was traveling west on East Dunne struck the Ford Mustang.

Police said the cause of the investigation is still under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the collision or observed the Ford Mustang driving recklessly on Monterey Road before the accident can call MHPD Officer Sam Huezo at 669.253.4931 or email [email protected]
