Two dead in string of wrecks; bus passengers elude tragedy

In response to recent vehicle break-ins outside the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road, police and staff at the facility are cautioning motorists to take precautions and report any suspicious activity.

Two vehicles were burglarized between 9 and 10 p.m. Feb. 21 outside the facility, according to Gavilan Community College staff. The college uses space in the building for its Morgan Hill campus.

Notices have been posted at the Morgan Hill campus notifying staff and students of the crimes. Campus and CCC visitors should not leave valuable items in their parked vehicles, or keep them somewhere out of sight like in the trunk, staff said.

Visitors of the property are also asked to report any suspicious activity, such as loiterers or vehicles circling the parking lot. Suspicious activity can be reported by dialing 10 while on campus, or calling campus security at (408) 710-7490.
