Visitors will get the opportunity to meet Morgan Hill Police Department officers, members of the Special Weapons And Tactics Unit (SWAT) and Morgan Hill Fire Department firefighters as well as get up-close looks at police and fire vehicles on display.
An old fashioned ice cream social, face painting, music, games, prizes, kids activities and food trucks will all be part of “America’s Night Out Against Crime” event.
The National Association of Town Watch introduced National Night Out in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back, according to the NTW website.
National Night Out involves over 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide, the website states.
