MORGAN HILL — Scores and highlights from the second weekend of Bronco Division play.
Royals 7, Rays 2
Royals pitchers Patrick Muller and Justin Sanders held the Rays to just two runs – with Muller added three singles, and Mark Quinby adding a double and single.
Alejandro Torres, Jeremy Urdiales and Quentin Jorstad pitched for the Rays, scattering five hits. Torres, Urdiales and Steve Facio led the team’s hitting attack.
Red Sox 11, Phillies 6
Ryan Quadros, Justin Dziuba, Danny Dunham and Riley Burg combined to hold the Phillies to six runs. Richie Signa and Dunham doubled for the Red Sox.
For the Phillies, Spencer Varada, Tyler Molina, Ben Hughes and Jonathan Gaubatz all took the mound.
Nationals 8, Pirates 6
The Pirates were limited by the pitching of Mike Williams, Sam Aptekar, Evan Dean, Troy Moorehead and Brandon Sorce. Ben Hagiperos Aptekar and Sorce singled twice, with Aptekar also doubling.
Sean Martin, Ethan Cox, Brandon Lozada and Cole Griffin took the mound for the Pirates, who received two doubles from Lozada and Cox.
Athletics 11, Yankees 2
Athletics pitchers Anthony Saso and Hunter Kirk combined to get the win.
They received support from Marcus Alipaz, who tripled and singles.
Saso added two singles while Kirk, Blair Murphy, Zach Riveron and Bradly Higgins singled once.
J.T. Miller, Jack Affourtit and Andrew Wilcox pitched for the Yankees.
