The Machado School Heritage Society invites the public to its annual end of school year picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday June 2, at the school, 15130 Sycamore Dr., near the intersection of Oak Glen Avenue.
Join the fun while listening to the “Just Picked String Band,” a local bluegrass group who will play from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A tug of war and other old-fashioned games will keep the kids entertained before lunch.
Sue Howell of the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center will provide a great ending to the day with a wildlife presentation at 2 p.m.
Enjoy the inside of the 1895 schoolhouse while browsing the South Valley Quilt Association display, artwork by local artist John Ward and Machado school archives, hosted by Heritage Society Board members.
Enjoy a great barbecue or bring a picnic lunch. Soft drinks and water will be available.
