Beginning July 28, commuters will have a new and improved off-ramp from southbound Highway 880 to Coleman Avenue. Traffic will no longer have to detour onto Airport Boulevard to access Coleman.

The highly anticipated milestone on the Highway 880/Coleman Avenue interchange project will include a two-lane exit from southbound 880, providing more capacity and a new traffic signal on Coleman Avenue.

The project reconfigures and widens existing ramps and adds a new direct connector ramp from Airport Boulevard to southbound 880, improving access to and from the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport and downtown San Jose.

Construction of the Airport Boulevard direct-connector ramp to southbound 880 will continue with project completion slated for September 2006.

This $81 million project is funded by $66 million from grant anticipation revenue vehicles bonds, $5 million from the State Traffic Congestion Relief Program and $10 million from the City of San Jose.
