Gloria M. Horner peacefully passed away on Tuesday March 31st, 2009 in Gilroy, CA. Gloria was born August 6th, 1920 in Pittsburg, CA, to her parents Salvador and Rose Giuffreda. Gloria was raised in the East Bay and in San Francisco where she graduated from Mt. St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. Gloria came to Gilroy in 1958 with her late husband Lee Horner and 3 children.

Gloria worked for Nob Hill on Westwood Dr. in Gilroy from 1964 until her retirement in 1985. Throughout her years in Gilroy, Gloria was involved in the Adam’s 4-H Club, St. Mary’s Parish Women’s CLAS, Gilroy Senior Center and Volunteer Auxiliary at St. Louise Regional Hospital. Gloria enjoyed gardening, fishing, dancing and most importantly, spending time with her family.

Gloria is survived by her son Michael Horner and wife Colette of San Jose, daughter Karen Horner-Shah of Gilroy, daughter Janice Gonzales and husband Steve of Gilroy, grandchildren Steve Gonzales of Gilroy, Ryan Shah of San Jose and Julianne Horner of Davis. Gloria is also survived by her sisters Della Winkelmaier of Arcadia, CA. and Mary Ferrari of Belmont, CA. and many nieces and nephews.

Services have been held.
