Gavilan Roundup: Nov. 27

Modesto was able to take one set from Gavilan, but that’s all it would get.
The Rams opened the NorCal Playoffs with a 3-1 win over host Modesto Tuesday. Gavilan won 28-26, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20 to advance to the second round. 
As always Tasmin Apple led the offense, racking up 18 kills in the game. Savanna Hartman had 10 kills and picked up three aces in the game. 
Sabina Gerard racked up 45 assists in the contest and added 11 digs and an ace. Karina Daniels had 24 digs in the game. 
Gavilan (22-7) advances to Round 2 of the NorCal Regionals where it will play American River at 7 p.m. Saturday in Sacramento.
