The Santa Clara Valley Water District’s rain gauge at Uvas Canyon Park measured 1.62 inches of rain in the last week, and the gauge at Loma Prieta hauled in 0.95 inches, according to a report from the Santa Clara County Farm Bureau.
Rainfall at the Morgan Hill gauge went from 1.34 inches Jan. 30 to 2.09 inches Friday for a total of three-quarters of an inch of rain in a week. The gauge at the percolation ponds near Church Avenue in Morgan Hill captured 0.94 inches of rain, increasing the season total to 2.48 inches, according to the Bureau.
“Farmer and ranchers are relieved by the slow but steady rainfall and forecasters predict more this weekend,” reads a newsletter from the Bureau. “Forecasters across the state are predicting 2 inches of rain on the valley floor and 4 to 5 inches in the mountains by Monday.”
