East Side Dreams

A former gang member turned author, Art Rodriguez visited Central Continuation High School students Wednesday to share his experiences growing up in East San Jose. His book, ‘East Side Dreams,’ details his challenging childhood and his involvement with a gang. He talked to students about how he managed to pull himself out of that lifestyle and into a productive adulthood. He has written four books, and he now often takes his work to high school classrooms to reach out to teens.
