Clarence was born in Bellflower, California. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He farmed with his family in Buttonwillow, California for 50 years, the last years as partner/manager. Clarence moved to Hollister in 1976 where he worked on farming equipment for several farmers and ranchers until his recent illness. Member of the San Benito County Saddlehorse Assn. and the Farm bureau.

Clarence was proceeded in death by his parents, Richard and Viola Freeborn. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and his children, Richard (Debra) Freeborn, Jacque (Michael) Kennedy and Jeanne Bourdet. He leaves 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 5 Brothers and sisters, Irma Daniles, Arise Howze, Charlie Freeborn, Bill Freeborn and Raymond Freeborn.

Memorial services will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister,CA 95023. Cremation with private inurnment is planned.

Contributions are preferred to “Ag in the Classroom” or “Small Steps” C/O the funeral home.
