Comedy night coming to Playhouse
– HaHa Hofmann Productions presents Dennis Gaxiola, one of America’s funniest clean comedians, Sept. 29, a the Morgan Hill Playhouse, 17090 Monterey Road. The preacher’s son gained notoriety from his appearances with Jamie Foxx on Comedy Central, The Latino Kings of Comedy Tour with Paul Rodriguez, BET’s Comic View, Que Locos and the 2010 season Martin Lawrence’s First Amendment Stand Up. The show also features David Kleinberg and Tyler Hinz, and will be hosted by comedian Wes Hofmann. The cost is $12.

AAUW celebrates the right to vote
– The American Association of University Women will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Woman Suffrage in California at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at Oakwood School, 105 John Wilson Way, Morgan Hill. Barbara Babcock, Stanford University Law Professor and author of “WOMAN LAWYER, The Trials of Clara Foltz,” will discuss how this young woman, a single mother of five challenged the male establishment at every turn and got her start in Santa Clara County. A vintage dessert buffet will be served.
