Mayor Steve Tate is right on point in pushing for the city’s comprehensive General Plan update to be done in two years. Yes, the three-year outline is impressive in bulk and style, but with some editing and creative compression there’s nothing in the plan that the city can’t accomplish in two years time.

Morgan Hill Mayor Steve Tate will present his annual State of the City address 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center. 

Voters rallied around the incumbents in Morgan Hill’s City Council election Tuesday, with the victors labeling the results a clear endorsement of city policies, goals and strategies put in place over the last two years.

With early results showing two incumbents leading the race for two city council seats Tuesday night, Morgan Hill Mayor Steve Tate said no matter who wins he is ready to get started on the city’s general plan update to incorporate several ongoing efforts to shape and control how the city will grow for the next decade.

Four candidates will vie for the Nov. 6 election for two seats on the Morgan Hill City Council. Incumbents Larry Carr and Marilyn Librers are running to hold onto their seats, and political newcomers Joseph Carrillo and Matthew Wendt are challenging them for the next four-year term which starts at the end of this year.

Candidates for the Nov. 6 city election filed their latest required campaign financial disclosure forms earlier this month.
