Frys.com Open announces this year’s honoree at sponsorship appreciation day

Golf TV commentator Peter Jacobsen will be this year’s Frys.com Open honoree. Organizers of the golf tournament made the announcement Monday at the sponsorship appreciation day. Jacobsen is a former player who has won seven PGA events and two Champions Tour events. He now is a commentator for NBC and the Golf Channel.

Appeals filed in response to San Martin mosque approval

The builders of the proposed mosque in rural San Martin have appealed the approval of their own use permit, asking the Santa Clara County planning commission to allow overnight accomodations, to host events with nearly twice as many people than previously requested and to double the size of the proposed multi-purpose building.
