Alice Lorraine Bilan died peacefully surrounded by her family on March 27, 2009. She was born in San Jose, CA on April 24,1932 to Lillie and John Skinner.

She attended Oak Grove Elementary School and graduated from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, CA; class of 1950 as Valedictorian.

Alice attended nurses training at Santa Clara County Hospital 1950 -1953 and became an R.N. in 1953. She has been a long time member of the Nurses Alumni Association.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Martin P. Bilan, and her six adoring daughters; Lora Jevoich (Ivo), Susie Kirch (Fred), Marie Thomas (Steve), Tina Skow (Rick Miller), Marcelle Castro (Jeff), Brenda Coates (Dave). Devoted Grandmother to: Katy, Adria, Marina, Martin, Clinton, Michelle, Joel, Justin, Jade, Nathan, Nolan, David, and four great grandchildren,Colton,Sophia,John and Steven.

Alice leaves behind her beloved sisters Idella Thomas and Nancy Melton, and brother, Charles Skinner. Her sister-in-laws; Ann Gizdich (Martin) and Lucille Deretich. Just like sons; Craig Skow and Allan Hurchalla and like a daughter, Marsha Renelle.

The family gatherings often included many nieces and nephews and life long friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Thurs. April 2nd from 2:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. and a Memorial Service to be held on Friday, April 3rd at Habing Family Funeral Home; 129 Fourth St.; Gilroy at 1:00 P.M. Interment immediately following at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.

As per Alice’s wishes a donation to Odyssey Healthcare Hospice would be appreciated; 1500 Hamilton Ave.; Suite 212; Campbell, CA 95008 or to a charity of your choice.
