Immigrants, children and American citizens are rounded up and put into jails.
Trump calls them “detention centers,” for the Japanese Americans in 1942 they were called “assembly centers,” in Hitler’s Germany they were “ghettos.”
The Gilroy Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League is TOTALLY opposed to a “detention center” in our city or in any city! Are we not the “land of the free”?
And what about the greatest symbol of freedom in the world, our Statue of Liberty, which says, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” .
