We like her

We are writing to encourage the Morgan Hill community to vote for Veronica Andrade for the Morgan Hill Unified District Trustee Area 7. Mrs. Andrade inspired us to become the change we wished to see in our community. She is currently embodying that change by running for MHUSD Trustee Area 7.

As an educator, she passionately advocates for and challenges her students beyond their perceived limitations, and she is ready to bring that same passion and dedication to the board.

Many of her students are forging their paths today, from published authors to mental health professionals to youth advisors who work in the Morgan Hill community.

Throughout her 15-plus years working in public education, Gilroy Unified School District recognized her as Teacher of the Year in 2009, San Jose Unified School District’s Teacher of the Year in 2015, and the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce 2021 Educator of the Year.

Accolades aside, the connections she has been able to make with her students throughout her career speak for themselves. Veronica Andrade continues to support and encourage former students beyond the classroom—whether providing a listening ear, helping prep for grad school and job interviews or explaining how policy and legislation directly affect our community.

If you are looking for a candidate who has taught in this community, cares about students, and understands the academic challenges students are currently experiencing, we urge you to vote for Veronica Andrade for Morgan Hill Unified District Trustee Area 7.

We know how hard she works. We know her compassion and we know how after 15 years she remains centered on students’ success. We are proud of that.

Candidate is ally, leader

My name is Sofia Ruiz-McGinty, I am a senior at Live Oak High School and I am wholeheartedly in support of Mary Patterson’s reelection to the Morgan Hill Unified School District School Board.

During the time I have had the pleasure of working with Mary as a student advocate, she has demonstrated immense compassion and dedication when ensuring that youth perspectives are voiced.

Through collaboration with the Morgan Hill Youth Climate Action Team, for which I am a lead, Mary has championed our team’s work to increase awareness in the community surrounding the environment, and helped us find ways to partner with MHUSD to implement our $10,000 climate education project.

With her guidance, we are able to open conversations about environmental justice and fight for our futures.

Additionally, I have had the honor of organizing the Young Women Leaders annual leadership conference where Mary has been a speaker, sharing her expertise with our next generation of changemakers.

I believe Trustee Patterson is an invaluable ally to young people in Morgan Hill and will continue to be if reelected.
