Morgan Hill Unified School District has recently hired three new faculty members for key leadership roles: director of elementary education, a middle school principal and the director of grounds and maintenance, according to district staff.
Dr. Julie Aguirre-Jacinto is MHUSD’s new Director of Elementary Education, says a press release from the district. She brings experience as an elementary teacher, elementary curriculum support specialist, elementary school assistant principal and elementary principal.
Her most recent role has been as an administrator for charter school oversight for the Santa Clara County Office of Education.
“I understand the importance of working with staff to identify areas of strength within the existing system which can be leveraged to address areas of need in order to support students,” Aguirre-Jacinto said.
Starting with the 2022-23 school year, Martin Murphy Middle School will have a new principal in Rick Ito, says the press release. Ito joins MHUSD with more than 20 years as a middle school principal, middle school assistant principal and special education teacher.
“Although I spent the last three years working in the district office, my strengths and passion are at a school site with students,” Ito said.
District staff added that Ito has a “proven track record of creating positive relations with the district and community, building an educational environment that is safe and student-centered, implementing new programs, and creating professional development opportunities, resulting in building capacity in the staff to ensure a safe and positive environment for all students.”
In January, the district hired Ricky Flores Carrillo as MHUSD’s Director of Grounds Maintenance, says the press release. Carrillo has more than 30 years of experience in operations oversight, facilities management, project management and program leadership.
His facilities management experience includes work with other school districts as well as high tech and pharmaceutical companies, according to district staff.
