Robbery

Three victims were robbed at gunpoint outside P.A. Walsh Elementary School, 353 West Main Ave. The victims told police that two or three armed men appeared from behind some bushes as the victims’ vehicle was parked on the side of the road. The suspects put one of the victims in a headlock and stole their wallets, which contained several hundred dollars cash, and a bag of marijuana from the back seat of the vehicle. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, and another held a knife. The crime was reported 11:24am July 31.

Municipal code violation

Two men were seen dumping large furniture at the Goodwill dropoff outside Safeway, 840 E. Dunne Ave. The dropoff facility does not accept large furniture. The violation was reported 7:09pm July 31.

Stolen vehicle

Someone stole a red Toyota Camry from a spot on Monterey Road. The theft was reported 7:28am Aug. 1.

A thief or thieves stole a black Ford Fusion from a spot on Bisceglia Avenue. The crime was reported 3:56am Aug. 11.

Suspicious person

A man sitting in front of Tortilla House restaurant at Cochrane Plaza was dancing while holding onto his pants, which were too big for the suspect. When the man let go of his pants, the garment fell down exposing his genital area. Multiple called police to report the man, who refused to leave when asked. A good Samaritan eventually purchased a pair of pants for the man that fit him. The incident was reported 3:34pm Aug. 9.

Fraud

Someone called a victim claiming to be a sheriff’s deputy, and told the victim to purchase five Walmart gift cards to pay a fine or else they would be arrested. The victim purchased the gift cards and gave the card numbers to the suspect over the phone. The victim later suspected it was a scam and called Morgan Hill Police, who advised the woman to make a fraud report. The fraud was reported 5:05pm Aug. 9.

Theft

Two suspects stole two packs of cigarettes and two bottles of perfume from Walgreens, 745 E. Dunne Ave. The crime was reported 9:32pm Aug. 9.

A thief or thieves stole all the ripe peaches off a resident’s fruit tree on Bel Air Way. The crime was reported 8:26pm Aug. 10.

Vandalism

A suspect or suspects broke a door to a storage unit outside Mama Mia’s restaurant, 275 E. Dunne Ave. The suspects did not gain entry to the facility, but caused about $200 worth of damage. The vandalism was reported 11:16am Aug. 10.

Grand theft

A male suspect walked out of Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1011 Cochrane Road, with about $2,000 worth of merchandise, including about 30 jackets. The man entered a tan SUV with two other suspects inside. The crime was reported 11:27am Aug. 12.
