“Rural Scribe: Memories of Country Life”.
Morgan Hill residents who would like to share their memories of living or growing up in a rural area are invited to submit a brief essay for the Santa Clara County Library program “Rural Scribe: Memories of Country Life”.
Entries are due at the Morgan Hill Library by March 15.
Writers may contribute a memoir or an interview of a family member or local resident. Selected authors will have their work published on the Santa Clara County Library website and be honored at a National Library Week event in April.
Application information is available at the Morgan Hill Library, 17575 Peak Ave. at West Main Avenue, and at www.santaclaracountylib.org/ Judging will be made by a panel of local writers, educators, historians, librarians and other community members.
The “Rural Scribe” is part of Silicon Valley Reads programs, which encourages everyone in the community to read one book, at one time and discuss it. The 2005 selection is “Epitaph for a Peach: Four Seasons On My Family Farm” by David Mas Muasumoto.
