Skoczylas.

The July 18 article about the visit of Mayor Pietro Roselli and his party from Morgan Hill’s Sister City San Casciano, Italy to Morgan Hill was excellent except for one important aspect.
A key participant in both the planning and the implementation of the visit was Maria Skoczylas.
Maria is fluent in Italian and handled all the discussions with Mayor Roselli leading up to the visit. She met the party on their arrival and escorted them to the hotel for the first night’s stay. She traveled with them constantly, providing translation and support for every event. In addition, she cooked dinner and arranged amenities.
As a final contribution, she arose at 3 a.m. to see them off for their return trip.
Without Maria, this visit would not have been half as successful, we all owe her a vote of thanks.
