I had the pleasure of helping coach the Live Oak varsity football team this year. Even though our won-loss record was not desirable, the players were all “winners”. They fought through a season plagued by injuries to key-players and through a season where the opponent’s smallest lineman were big or bigger then our biggest lineman.

Many of our players unselfishly learned and played multiple positions. Their unselfishness may have cost some of them a chance at “First Team All League” honors.

It would have been easy for any of them to walk away from a hard season. None of them did. From starter to reserve, they persevered. That willingness to persevered will serve them well long after their athletic endeavors have ended.
