I think I have the solution to the latest report in newspapers concerning the cost of health care and a health care system that’s in trouble,

Of course it will not meet with approval in some areas. Since my experience in the military some years ago, and a close association with what was known as “Corps Men” or “Medics” as they were then known these persons were expert in their field.

I propose every “corpsmen” be elevated to the rank of Lt. JG from CWO depending on the grade of expertise whether in surgery (MD) or caregivers. In addition, service personnel would be given credit toward an advanced degree by a service in a local hospital or in the emergency room. This would relieve the burden on the existing staff in the local emergency rooms of various hospitals.

Since many of the enlisted personnel has had first-hand experience with the wounded, and are not to my knowledge “note takers” or “observers” but practical first hand operators. There is no reason why a person in the service should not be advanced to the rank of captain with additional pay increases depending on the length of service, in the medical field.

Think it over … would you rather have a competent “corpsman” attending to your trouble, or an observer taking notes about your condition?
