Fit for Learning, a program by the Santa Clara County Office of Education to combat child obesity, is being expanded to reach students in grades kindergarten through sixth.
County education officials announced the expansion of the program during the Sept. 9 Living Well Expo at San Jose’s McEnery Convention Center. The event featured dozens of county students who have participated in and benefited from Fit for Learning.
Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools Colleen Wilcox was joined by Eric Schlosser, award-winning journalist and author of best-seller “Fast Food Nation,” and “Chew on This: Everything You Don’t Want to Know About Fast Food.”
