Morgan Hill – Following a tough, 2-0, loss to San Benito on Friday, the Live Oak Acorns softball team rebounded to win two straight on Saturday at the Watsonville Tournament. The Acorns turn around come just in time, as they square off against Tri-County Athletic League rival the Gilroy Mustangs, today at 4pm in Morgan Hill.

In Saturday’s double-header, the Acorns (12-6-2, 2-5 TCAL) defeated Watsonville, 4-3, and Alvarez, 6-0. Live Oak’s pitcher Tricia Goularte got both of the wins, including the shutout victory over Alvarez.

Sarah Locarnini went 4-for-7 on the weekend for the Acorns with two RBIs and three stolen bases, Brittney Ondich went 2-for-6 with a homerun and two RBIs and Kelly McDonald went 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Today’s game against Gilroy is a rematch of an extra inning battle in which the Mustangs squeaked out a victory earlier this season. Live Oak will be looking to get back on track in TCAL action and hand the Mustangs a little payback.
