Morgan Hill dancer Ryan Ramirez will be performing in an upcoming dance concert as a member of the pre-professional Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area. Ramirez is 14 years old and has been dancing for 10 years. Last year Ramirez auditioned for the company and became one of its youngest members. She’s an eighth-grade student at the Oakwood Country School where she has earned a 4.0-grade-point average. She will be attending Saint Francis High School in the fall.
The training program at TDC has given Ramirez the opportunity to work with some of the top choreographers in the country, and inspired her to pursue dance as a future career goal. Along with performance opportunities, this dance season she’s been awarded many national, dance scholarships at dance conventions. She has won top awards and recognition for her own, original choreography and two dance titles; Miss Teen Odyssey and Miss Teen Spotlight.
The upcoming dance concert presented by Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area is entitled “Tributes.” The program features new works and existing company repertoire that comments on the human existence. Resident and guest choreographers give their perspective on moments in history, the environment, the human psyche, the ages of man, and culture. Two shows will take place at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (main stage) on May 27, 8pm and May 28, 1pm. For tickets call (650) 903-6000 or order tickets online www.mvcpa.com.
