Amazing is the best word I can think of to describe the night of May 20th, 2006. Held at Monterey’s Post Naval Graduate School, Senior Ball is a night that many look forward to and nobody can forget. Sadly, Senior Prom is the beginning of the end for seniors who only have 20 school days left until graduation.
As school begins to wrap up there are several important events that cannot be missed. The senior awards night is on Wednesday, May 24, at 7pm in the gym. Any senior who has received scholarships or a silver or gold cord will be honored at this ceremony. Green and Gold Awards will be awarded to students on Wednesday, May 31 at 7pm in the gym, as well.
Finals for seniors start in just two short weeks and graduation will be right after that. Seniors do not forget to buy your Disneyland and Grad Night Tickets!
On Friday, May 26 Live Oak’s California Scholarship Federation is sponsoring the annual Stanford Blood Drive from 8am to 2pm in the Live Oak Gym. Parents and students 17 years or older are encouraged to participate in such a great cause. For more information contact Veronica Diaz at Live Oak in room 503!
Senior Prom, the largest and most popular dance all year. As a tradition five girls and five guys had the opportunity to be on the 2006 prom court. Around 11pm our very own Amy Marshall and Dustin Muhn were crowned the 2006 prom queen and king!
The elaborate dance floor was filled all night with seniors dancing the night away. Tables were set up around the floor for students to talk, relax, and eat. Delicious food was provided at the base like sandwiches, drinks, shrimp cocktail, and incredible chocolate dipped strawberries. All in all, prom is one of those nights that is truly remarkable. As the clock struck midnight the song, “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain began to play. Seniors slowly danced to the last song of high school and ended an amazing night.
