Know a person, business or organization that has gone above and beyond in service to the community? Gavilan College wants to hear from you. The Gavilan College Community Spirit Awards were created by the college’s Board of Trustees in 1999 to recognize contributions to the communities that form the Gavilan Joint Community College District. Each year, three sets of awards are presented for Morgan Hill, Gilroy and San Benito County.

The awards recognize individuals who give hours of their time volunteering, organizations that meet special needs and businesses that contribute to schools and charitable projects.

Improving the community without seeking recognition is the common theme, and Gavilan College wants to publicly recognize these individuals and organizations. Nominations must be completed by Aug. 1. Award winners and nominees will be asked to be present at an awards ceremony. For more information, call 848-4724.
