Dear Editor,

I want to take this time to thank everyone in Morgan Hill who helped make this years American Cancer Society Relay For Life another outstanding success.

This event is truly a community event, and the citizens of Morgan Hill have consistently supported this worthy cause. The power of relay was evident as more than 100 survivors walked in the opening lap.

The survivors are truly an inspiration to all of us. A special thanks to all the team captains who helped lead the 40 teams and more than 450 participants during this 24 hour event. There was a threat of rain throughout the weekend, but that did not deter the spirit and commitment of those who generously gave their time, energy, hard work and money. This year we continued the record-breaking tradition for money raised with close to $170,000 to help find a cure for cancer and fund cancer services.

Along with the hard work of the teams, we raised a record amount of money with sponsors including Platinum Sponsor Johnson Lumber and Gold Sponsors Oakwood School, Rosy’s at the Beach, Mama Mia’s and ComUnity Lending. Again, I personally thank everyone for their generosity and look forward to making the Relay For Life 2007 another great success. Don’t feel left out; it is not too late to make a donation, please call me for more information, (408) 782-5221.
