The Morgan Hill Unified school board will have a regular meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the board room at 15600 Concord Circle in Morgan Hill.
The board of trustees will hear a review of how summer school went, the district’s California Standardized Test results and they may also vote on a one-year contract with the Service Employees Union International.
• Summer school report: The summer school principals Heather Griffin and Anthony DeBenedetti will give a report on how the program at Britton Middle School went this summer (July 10 to Aug. 3). Targeted again this year was kindergarten readiness, algebra and science readiness; and classes for all migrant program students and students on Individualized Education Plans.
• California Standardized Test results: Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Norma Martinez-Palmer will go over the district’s results on the CSTs from spring 2012. Those scores serve as the basis for the Academic Performance Index and Adequate Yearly Progress scores – due out within a month.
• SEIU contract: The board will vote on a one-year contract with the Service Employees International Union, Local 521. SEIU has been negotiating with the district this spring and on Aug. 10 they reached a tentative agreement, which was ratified Aug. 21.
• Disagree with Rocketship decision?: The board will discuss possibly writing a letter to the Santa Clara County Board of Education regarding a recent request from a Rocketship Education plan asking to be exempt from local zoning ordinances in order to open two charter schools in 2013. The board will review a draft letter to be sent to the governing board.
