Duane Rasmussen does a flame-up with some scampi as Mike Sanders sautes some mushrooms at the Gilroy Elks Lodge #1567 booth during the Mushroom Mardi Gras. The group had more than 650 pounds of mushrooms.

Applications for the 2012 Mushroom Mardi Gras Scholarships are available at the Mushroom Mardi Gras office at 224 Tennant Station and at Live Oak and Sobrato high school counseling offices. Applications can also be downloaded at www.mhmushroommardigras.com or www.mhmmg.com.

All seniors who attend public or private high schools and reside within the geographical boundaries of the Morgan Hill Unified School District are eligible to apply. The deadline for all applications to be returned to the Mushroom Mardi Gras office or the counseling offices at Live Oak or Sobrato High School is Monday, March 26, 2012.
