I want to thank Marilyn Dubil for her thoughtful article on my
son Justin’s recent transplant and remarkable recovery. Marilyn
mentioned the help we received from the Ronald McDonald House and
how it helps so many other families when a child is ill or needs to
be close to Lucille Packard Hospital.

The Ronald McDonald House at Stanford serves more than 1,000 families in an average year. Families are asked to pay $10 per night, but no one is denied a room based on ability to pay.
Six percent of the budget comes from this nightly fee. The majority of the funds (more than 80 percent) needed to operate the house come from the generous support of individuals, foundations and businesses through local fund-raising activities.
Our family would not have made it through this past year without the tremendous support from family, friends and the community. I would like to ask for your support again to help the Ronald McDonald House in Palo Alto.
I will be walking/running a half marathon in Lake Tahoe on Sept. 30 to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. My goal is to raise $2500. I’m not sure what scares me more, the 13.1 miles around Lake Tahoe or reaching this financial goal, but I’m determined to make them both happen.
You can help this wonderful place by contributing online at the Ronald McDonald at Stanford Web site: http://www.ronaldhouse-stanford.org/team/index.html (Please be sure to select my name from the drop down list to ensure that your donation is credited towards my goal) or you can mail your check made out to the Ronald McDonald House to me at 1195 Appian Way, Morgan Hill, Calif., 95037.
Thank you so much for your support!
